This unit prepares students for the period after submitting college applications by helping them stay focused, organized, and informed as they make important decisions about their future. Students create timelines for post-application tasks, develop strategies to avoid senioritis, and set realistic expectations with family members and peers about the transition to college. They also explore how to evaluate admission offers, consider gap year or gap semester options, and manage the emotional and practical challenges that accompany the college decision process. 

A significant focus of the unit is understanding and planning for college affordability. Students review the differences between merit-based and need-based aid, learn how to interpret and compare financial aid offers, and practice evaluating sample award packages. They also explore how to ask questions about aid offers, seek reconsideration when appropriate, and develop personalized financial aid plans and timelines. By the end of the unit, students will be prepared to make informed enrollment decisions and apply the knowledge gained throughout the course to their future educational goals.
